Building Pathways into Digital Skills and a Tech Career

MAK-SYSTEM is proud to partner with WOMEN’STEC to support the Digital Skills Development Programme for Women – an initiative focused on helping more women build confidence, gain practical digital skills and access new opportunities in technology.

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to creating inclusive pathways into the digital economy, particularly for women who may face barriers to entering the tech workforce.

Partnership purpose

Over the past year, the programme has focused on building strong foundations for long-term success. WOMEN’STEC has worked closely with learners to design a programme shaped around real needs, interests and ambitions.

From early consultation to pilot digital skills sessions and accreditation planning, the work has been grounded in practical insights – ensuring the programme is accessible, relevant and impactful.

Year 2 progress

2025 has been a critical phase in shaping the programme. Key areas of progress include learner consultation to understand needs and barriers, pilot digital skills sessions including Al and everyday tech use, exploration of accredited learning pathways, and a focus on confidence-building, online safety and employability skills.

In parallel, WOMEN’STEC has enhanced the learning environment by improving IT equipment and classroom setup, creating a more supportive and effective space for digital learning.

Looking ahead: Year 3 delivery

As the programme moves forward, the focus shifts from foundation-building to delivery and measurable impact.

This next phase will translate early groundwork into real outcomes, supporting women to build skills, confidence and pathways into employment or further learning.

Partnership Impact and Future Vision

For MAK-SYSTEM, this partnership reflects a broader commitment to social impact and inclusion. It represents an opportunity to support practical change, helping individuals access the skills they need to participate in an increasingly digital world.

As the programme evolves, both organisations look forward to deepening collaboration, exploring new ways to engage and continuing to drive meaningful impact together.

Together, MAK-SYSTEM and WOMEN’STEC are working to create opportunity, build confidence and open doors for the next generation of women in tech.
